DIY: Chemical and Toxic Free Bug Spray

Summer is in full swing and that could mean only one thing, Mosquito season! I have been getting bit alot in my sleep that seriously would wake me up scratching hard. I got paranoid because someone said it could be bed bugs and with the zika virus. I went to my doctor and he assured me “Its only mosquito bites and just use bug spray.”
So at first I went out and spent around $50 on different bug repellents and anti itch products and guess what, NONE OF THEM WORKED! I was still getting bit and it was keeping me up at night. The sprays, wipes and diffuser were highly chemical and dangerous to our health even if you use them use them outdoors like the product says. I needed something I can use indoors and out. I wasn’t getting bit out doors, it was indoors as I slept. They say that mosquitoes can hide in your air conditioner and as soon as you turn it on they come out at night.
I did some major research which is one reasons I didn’t post this earlier. I wanted to do test to see if my powerful bug spray creation would work, and it does!
Bugs hate the scent of Lemon, Peppermint, Lavender, Tea Tree, rosemary, Citronella and Eucalyptus. Well here’s what you’ll need…
Ingredients:

Lavender oil
lemon Juice (Fresh, oil or bottled)
Tea Tree  oil
Peppermint oil
Rosemary oil
Citronella oil
Witch Hazel
Liquid Coconut oil
Distilled water
Medium or 12 oz plastic spray bottle

Instructions:

Add equal parts of distilled water, Liquid Coconut oil and Witch Hazel in the bottle, than add 30 drops of each essential oil, shake and that’s it! So simple, you can carry it with you or what I do is I spray it over my bed sheets before I go to sleep and also my exposed skin and I haven’t been bitten. I was in Home Depot the other day and over heard a guy complaining about getting bit at night, he was like a collage student and was looking for something to stop it. I whispered to him don’t buy that chemical spray stuff it doesn’t work and told him about my DIY bug repellent remedy.
